On the morning of December 20, 2018, the CNFIA and the VNU Exhibitions Asia held a press conference in Shanghai.

They announced that they will continue to co-host the 6th China Shanghai International Food Expo, and introduce the current preparations for the Expo. At the same time, the two sides agreed to reach closer cooperation on agricultural products and food exhibitions. In September 19-21, 2019, Qingdao World Expo City will jointly build Asia's largest agricultural and food industry chain event ——“AAFEX2019" and “CHINA FOOD TECH". Under the witness of Mr. Cao Shumin, Vice President of CNFIA, and Ms. Lu Hong, Vice President of the VNU Exhibitions Asia, a cooperation agreement was signed Ms. Hou Hongmei, Director of Marketing Department of China Food Industry Association, and Mr. Liu Xun, Vice President of the VNU Exhibitions Asia.

The first AAFEX will be held in Qingdao World Expo City from September 19th to 21st, 2019. The scale of the exhibition is expected to reach 100,000 square meters, and participating companies will be 2,000, the number of visitors will reach 100,000. It is planned to hold more than 20 professional events in the same period.

The exhibition will set up three exhibition sections of animal husbandry, planting, agricultural product processing and food technology, focusing on “food safety”, planning exhibitions in the main sectors of agriculture and the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, highlighting the professional content of raw materials, technology, equipment, types, brands and services. To build a professional, market-oriented, internationalized agricultural food industry innovation display, industry exchange and business interaction platform, and strive to create Asia's most important "Agricultural Food Whole Industry Chain International Platform" in three to five years.
